The purpose of this is to get the team, parents and coaches together.
This is a “off the bike” preseason activity. i.e. we will not be riding. We want the teens to interact while tie dying their shirts.
Please RSVP at your earliest convenience! Even if you can’t come, please specify this, so I don’t think your attendance is pending. This will also help those planning on bringing food.
Parents: RSVP separately for you and each teen that will be there or not there. If you are bringing siblings, friend and/or spouse, then include the additional number of people. I need to know which teens on the team are coming, so I have a tshirt for them and the appropriate size.
Coaches (no teens in program)- if you are bringing someone, please specify this in the additional numbers
Teens – it’s okay to RSVP for yourself, but make sure your parents also respond.
While the teens are tie dying their tshirts, this will be a great opportunity for the parents and coaches to socialize and connect without all of the pre-race and race distractions. We have a lot of new families and coaches, so thought this was a great opportunity.
I ordered the team tshirts based on the team roster back in early May and for the coaches. The sizing was based on what size you provided for your jersey. I should have plenty of shirts for the teens that are able to come to this event, and will get first preference. If there are shirts left, we will tie dye those, and will give those to the team riders, who request this in the comments. I am asking for $5 optional donation, per shirt to help defray some of the costs of the shirt and the fabric dye and other supplies. If we have shirts left over, parents can buy a shirt for $10, if they would like to participate.
To minimize waste, please bring your own cups. If you are bringing beverages, please do not opt for single serving, as we find that there is a lot of waste (teens open it, then forget it, then open another, and then we have left to clean up, lots of half bottles). Bring a cooler for drinks, and/or large bottles. All of our events strive to be no/low waste events. We will need a parent to sign up to wash the event dishes.
Please RSVP for both you and each teen on the team. I need to know which teens are coming, so I have a tshirt for them and the appropriate size.
If others are attending in addition to your teens, ie siblings and spouse/partner, then include those in the +#’s. This way those bringing food, can plan for this.
There are questions, when you RSVP.
What dish are you bringing? Main; Main vegetarian; side dish; appetizer; desert; beverages; n/a
What are you bringing, please specify?
Can you help with washing the team dishes? Yes; No
Please label your dish with any items that have any tree nuts or peanuts in the ingredients. We have several team members, who are severely allergic. Also, if you are your teen have special dietary needs, please sign up for a dish that they are able to eat. i.e. if vegetarian, then offer to bring a vegetarian dish.
If at anytime you need to change your answer to any of the questions, just RSVP again, and select “Yes”, the questions will pop back up, and you can make any changes to your responses.
Mika Blain has graciously agreed to host at her house. If families could bring their own camp chairs that would be great!!!
