Parents/Team!
Just a reminder that nominations are due tonight b/f 9pm. Heather (League Director) sent out a request last week and today in her weekly email newsletter (aka Single Track Times), asking for nominations.
Please take 5 minutes to recognize your awesome team members. I’m also addressing this to parents, as I’m guessing, not every teen gets the Single Track Times or even checks/reads email. Here is a the google form link:

I rather you just nominate one team member for at least one award, than not nominate anyone. The more nominations team members from our team get, the better chance they will get recognized! Each year, someone from our team gets one of these coveted year awards, so please take a few minutes to do this!!
You only have to write a one or two sentences on why that person should get award. We have so many awesome teens and coaches, I had several teens for each category that were very deserving.
I want to encourage our student athletes & parents to nominate their peers, as I don’t always see the awesome things that our teens do for each other. This is an opportunity for our team members to voice who should receive recognition.
Here is a listing of the awards and description of what actions/qualities associated with the recognition. For some categories, there is a separate award for HS and MS students.
Most supportive HS & MS teammate – This is the student athlete who goes out of their way to help others on the team be successful and encouraged.
Most improved MS & HS – riders who have improved significantly in skills and fitness in the 2022 season.
Best Sportsmanship MS & HS – student athletes, who go out of their way to demonstrate fairness, assistance, encouragement towards their fellow competitors during races.
Most prepared rider – this is the team mate that always has the snack, tube, pump, jacket, and the skills/tools when the mechanical happens and never fails to have the goods when needed. They are also the first to share these when their fellow teammate is in need.
Oregon Achievement Award – High schooler
This is for a student-athlete that truly embodies the Oregon League mission and puts their heart into continuing our efforts to get more kids on bikes. This rider has stellar attendance (at practice and races), recruits new members for the team, and takes new riders under their wing. Only high schoolers are eligible for this award.
Coach – an individual who is a leader, who provides guidance, motivation, encouragement and assistance so athletes can improve and achieve their goals. Ideally a coach that attends most practices 1 to 2 times/week all throughout the year, and rides/interacts with most every rider on the team.
It will take less time to fill out the google form, than it will to read this email/news post. Please do reach out, if you have any questions.
This is due b/f 9pm tonight, so please take a moment with your teen to recognize their peers and coaches.
Thank you!
Lillian
